If the prospect of our morrow is set
then our future is written
immanent – impending – and subsequent
But I'd try to reel in the minutes
Pull them back like skin
From the outside in - And begin again
Starting with acceptance
I should admit the past
And a new picture would begin
Allowing each frame to build on the last
This would be my path
The trouble is that I’m troubled
And that places a hitch in my plan of finding acknowledgment from myself again
I remain unsettled which poses problematic
Allowing for a much less direct journey to my fate
I worry about the possibilities
I worry about the unease
Because I fear these triggers are reminders that not all things are built for change
Some things must be pried open and re-made
Hijacked, hacked and distorted
So that these glimpses of experience can be re-sorted and filed away
Promptly, I’d realize that my potential is somewhat set
I can change it – but only a little bit
Because it is immanent – impending
All of which makes me feel unfit
All of which makes me much less desired
All of which is subsequent
